Learn the traditional Japanese style of paper cutting called Kiri-e, literally “cut artwork”, to create two beautiful greeting cards to take home. Mark Yungblut has trained in Japan with a master in this art form.

Discover the simple beauty of 'kiri-e,' the breathtaking art of Japanese papercutting. Let yourself be guided through the initial design process, learn the basic techniques of papercutting and create a one of a kind framed landscape artwork. Templates will be provided, but participants are invited to bring their own images as inspiration. All materials included, with the option to purchase specialty knives to continue the art at your leisure.

Participants will learn the basics of Japanese papercutting with artist Mark Yungblut who brings 10 years of experience. Mark will discuss various styles and techniques, and will guide participants in the creation of an artwork. Cost includes all materials. Participants will take home cutting board and knife to use for future projects.
